Steve Casebolt and his #c9 team entered their final two races of the 2017 season from November 2-4 in the 11th edition of the 'World Finals' at the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series held their season-ending races at the 4/10-mile speedplant and 75 competitors signed into the pit area to do battle. When things kicked off on Thursday evening with two rounds of qualifying, Steve knocked down the nineteenth quickest lap in Group A during the first session and the eighteenth fastest time in Group B during the final session.

On Friday night in the first of two $12,000 to win programs, Steve placed fifth in his heat race and second in his B-Main to earn a coveted transfer spot into the 50-lap feature event. The Richmond, Indiana ace then moved past seven competitors during the contest to score a fifteenth place performance. In the $12,000 to win finale on Saturday evening, Steve unfortunately failed to transfer into the 50-lapper after running fifth in his stacked heat race and sixth in his B-Main. On Friday night, Steve Casebolt placed third in his first heat race of the evening, while he ran second in his final prelim. The Richmond, Indiana ace then advanced inside of the top ten before eventually running into troubles, pitting on several occasions, and winding up twenty-first in the final finishing order. Steve placed ninth in his first heat race of the night and third in his final prelim race. Steve did later compete in the Non-Qualifiers Race, which paid $2,500 to the winner, and walked way with a fourth place performance.
