Casebolt Wraps Up 2019 Season in $100k DTWC
(October 20, 2019)
Steve Casebolt wrapped up his 2019 campaign on October 18-19, as the #c9 team traveled to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio to compete in the 39th Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the crown jewel extravaganza, which drew 66 competitors to the 3/8-mile oval to vie for the whopping $100,000 winner's check. On Friday night, Steve encountered motor woes during the qualifying session, but later battled back to finish seventh in his loaded heat race.

After pulling off the racing surface early in Saturday's consolation event, Steve utilized a track provisional to gain access into the 100-lap headliner. The Richmond, Indiana ace then rolled off from the inside of the thirteenth row and moved up inside of the top ten during the extra distance affair before getting caught up in a couple of late race skirmishes. Steve eventually called it quits after 86 circuits and was officially paid for a twentieth place performance.
