Forward in Indiana Icebreaker
17, 2019) The #c9 team ventured to Atomic Speedway in Alma,
Ohio and Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on March 15-16
for a pair of $12,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series throwdowns.
With the 'Buckeye Spring 50' washed out at Atomic at the tail end
of qualifying on Friday night, the 22nd edition of the 'Indiana
Icebreaker' at Brownstown on Saturday evening went off without a
hitch. Steve Casebolt posted the twelfth fastest lap in Group A
during qualifying prior to placing fifth in his loaded heat race.
Following a triumph in his B-Main, Steve was able to pick off a
handful of competitors during the 50-lapper to leave Brownstown
with a respectable twelfth place showing. Complete results from
the 1/4-mile fairgrounds oval can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.
Opens Up '19 Campaign in Winter Freeze IX
9, 2019) The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model
Series kicked off their version of the 2019 racing season on February
8-9 at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia. The Peach State
venue drew a 39 car field for the 'Winter Freeze IX,' which featured
two complete shows paying $10,000 to win each night. On Friday night
in his season lid lifter, Steve Casebolt placed fifth in his loaded
heat race, won his B-Main, and later wound up seventeenth in the
50-lap feature event after getting caught up in a skirmish. In tonight's
$10,000 to win program, Steve was unfortunately unable to make the
start in the 50-lapper after finishing ninth in his stacked heat
race and seventh in his B-Main.
