Casebolt and Tye Twarog Change Direction for 2017 Season
7, 2016) Veteran racer Steve Casebolt, of Richmond, Indiana,
and Tye Twarog have decided to change direction for 2016. Instead
of chasing the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series tour
for another season, Casebolt has decided that a more regional program
will be more feasible after his sixth place finish in WoO points.
While no longer business partners, Tye Twarog Racing and Lias Tire
will continue to be a part of Casebolt’s team as a sponsor
on his C9 Enterprises entry. (Thomas
“With my many obligations here at home that include a couple
of different businesses and a 2-year-old little girl to take care
of,” Casebolt said, “I feel it's best for me to carve
out a schedule that will allow me to be closer to home. I really
appreciate Tye teaming up with me for the last couple of years and
allowing me the use of his top-notch equipment. I wish Tye and his
wife Heather the best of luck in their future racing endeavors.
Being partners with Tye allowed me to accomplish one of my career
goals of running the entire World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model
Steve will again race out of his Richmond shop with use of Rocket
Chassis race cars and the help of veteran crew chief Mark Saul.
An engine program has not yet been decided on at this point. Steve
is actively seeking additional sponsorship to help with the expense

Casebolt Wraps Up Season
in World Finals; Sixth in WOOLMS Points
30, 2016) Steve Casebolt and Tye Twarog Racing wrapped
up the 2016 World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series schedule
over the October 27-29 weekend in the annual running of the 'World
of Outlaws World Finals' at the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte
in Concord, North Carolina. Things kicked off at the 4/10-mile speedplant
on Thursday evening with two rounds of qualifying, which determined
the lineups for heat race action the remainder of the weekend. Steve
posted the twelfth quickest time in Group A for Friday's program,
while he clicked off the third fastest lap in Group A for Saturday's
When the stakes really heightened on Friday night, Steve ran third
in his loaded heat race prior to winding up fourteenth in the final
rundown of the $12,000 to win main event, which was fifty laps in
length. In Saturday's 'World of Outlaws World Finals' finale, which
also carried a $12,000 top prize, Steve scored an impressive triumph
in his heat race before slipping back to eleventh in the 50-lapper.

Steve Casebolt Tackles
Fall 50 at Florence Speedway...
23, 2016) Next up on the racing calendar for the #c9 team
was the annual running of the 'Fall 50' on Saturday evening, October
22 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The unsanctioned
Super Late Model special at the Cincinnati-area venue paid $5,000
to the winner. Steve Casebolt slipped to fifth in his heat race
and later started the 50-lap headliner from the outside of the ninth
row. After moving up to as high as twelfth in the running order
of the 'Fall 50,' Steve headed to the pits to get a new tire. The
Richmond, Indiana ace returned to the track to log some laps, but

Casebolt Encounters Troubles

16, 2016) Tye Twarog Racing ventured to Portsmouth Raceway
Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 14-15 for the 36th Annual 'Dirt
Track World Championship,' which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil
Late Model Dirt Series and attracted 80 competitors to vie for the
whopping $100,000 winner's share. The unique format for the crown
jewel spectacular started with two sets of heat races on Friday
evening. Steve Casebolt unfortunately was involved in a wreck in
his first heat race to finish ninth and later wound up eighth in
his second prelim due to a flat right rear tire. The Richmond, Indiana
star then made the decision to forego Saturday's action at PRP and
scratched from his B-Main, which also kept him out of the 100-lap

Harvest 50; Sixth at Atomic Speedway
9, 2016) The Tye Twarog Racing team invaded Skyline Speedway
in Stewart, Ohio and Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on October 7-8
for a pair of Short Track Auto Racing Series (STARS) showdowns.
On Friday night in the $3,000 to win 'Harvest 50' at Skyline, Steve
Casebolt timed in fifth fastest in qualifying, ran second in his
heat race, and later claimed a strong fifth place performance in
the 50-lap headliner behind only feature winner Tyler Carpenter,
Corey Conley, Zack Dohm, and Anthony Kinkade. At Atomic on Saturday
evening, a $4,000 winner's check was on the line in the 'Fall 40.'
Steve laid down the second quickest lap during the time trial session
and won his loaded heat race prior to winding up sixth at the checkers

Casebolt Climbs to Third
in Fall Nationals; Winds Up Tenth
2, 2016) Steve Casebolt and his #c9 team rolled into the
famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Saturday, October 1 to
compete in the annual running of the 'DIRTcar Fall Nationals.' The
American Late Model Series (ALMS) presided over the single-day throwdown
at the "Big E" and a $5,000 winner's check was on the
line. Steve posted the eighth fastest lap overall during qualifying
prior to running fourth in his heat race. During the course of the
40-lap headliner, which was delayed several hours due to rain and
completed in the wee hours of the morning, Steve blasted all the
way up to third in the running order from his sixteenth starting
spot. Unfortunately, the Richmond, Indiana standout got into the
wall due to a lack of vision from the muddy track conditions and
a lack of tearoffs, which damaged his car's right front suspension

into Jackson 100 at Brownstown
25, 2016) Tye Twarog Racing drove through the pit gate
at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on September
23-24 for the 37th edition of the 'Jackson 100.' The Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series once again presided over the two-day special at
the 1/4-mile fairgrounds oval and 42 competitors signed in to compete
for the $20,000 top prize. Steve Casebolt timed in eighteenth quickest
in Group A during Friday's qualifying session, but later advanced
up to third in his heat race on Saturday evening to finish behind
only prelim winner Don O'Neal and Jimmy Owens. After starting the
100-lap headliner from the inside of the sixth row, Steve eventually
wound up credited with a thirteenth place performance in the 'Jackson

decision to invade the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown,
Indiana on Saturday evening, September 17 for a tune-up race for
the upcoming 'Jackson 100.' The unsanctioned special at the 1/4-mile
fairgrounds oval paid $2,000 the winner. Steve rallied after a heat
race wreck to finish third in his prelim and later rolled off from
the outside of the third row in the 25-lap feature event. The Richmond,

11, 2016) The "Biggest Dirt Race in the World"
took center stage for Tye Twarog Racing over the September 8-10
weekend on the hallowed high-banks of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg,
Ohio, as the 46th version of the 'World 100' drew a healthy 108
car field. The three-day crown jewel showdown at the 1/2-mile, Darke
County speedplant started with a pair of $10,000 to win Twin 25
preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Steve Casebolt ran third
in his heat race prior to winding up twelfth in the final rundown
of the 25-lap sprint. At the "Big E" on Friday evening,
Steve placed fourth in his heat race and fifteenth in the 25-lapper.
When Saturday arrived in the Buckeye State, the stakes were significantly
heightened, as each of the competitors were focused on the whopping
$49,000 winner's check and the famed globe trophy. Steve finished
second in his loaded heat race and later rolled off from the inside

5, 2016) The #c9 team ventured east to the state of Pennsylvania
with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series for three
big nights of racing action from September 2-4. Things kicked off
at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania with the two-day
'Working Man Weekend.' On Friday night, Steve Casebolt posted the
tenth quickest lap in Group B during qualifying and later wound
up tenth in the final rundown of his $2,500 to win qualifier. Following
a win in the B-Main on Saturday evening, Steve started the 75-lap
'Working Man Weekend' finale from the inside of the ninth row. During
the course of the $20,000 to win main event, the Richmond, Indiana
ace moved up three positions on his way to securing a fourteenth
At Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania on Sunday,
the tripleheader wrapped up with the annual running of the 'Late

in Great Lakes Shootout in Michigan
29, 2016) Steve Casebolt and the Tye Twarog Racing team
were back on the track at Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan
from August 26-28. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series
sanctioned a pair of events in the Wolverine State that made up
the 'Keyser's Great Lakes Shootout.' In the $6,000 to win weekend
opener on Friday night, Steve ran fifth in his heat race and second
in his B-Main to earn the outside tenth row starting spot in the
25-lap sprint. Steve then proceeded to work his way past ten competitors
during the headliner en route to a steady tenth place performance.
Following a rain-out on Saturday evening, the weekend wrapped up
on Sunday with a $10,000 to win finale. Steve placed fifth once
again in his loaded heat race prior to scoring the victory in his
consolation event. After starting the 50-lapper from the inside
of the ninth row, the Richmond, Indiana ace raced hard mid pack
and eventually wound up seventeenth in the final finishing order.

15, 2016) The #c9 team followed the rigorous World of Outlaws
Craftsman Late Model Series schedule to four different tracks in
four different states from August 11-14 for $10,000 to win special
events! Steve Casebolt started his extended weekend on Thursday
at Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, Delaware by finishing
sixth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and twenty-fourth
in the 50-lap feature after suffering terminal motor issues. On
Friday evening at Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek, Maryland, Steve
placed fourth in his heat race prior to advancing to seventh in
At Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia on Saturday night,
Steve was forced to utilize a provisional to gain access into the
50-lap headliner, but was able to blast past eleven competitors
en route to a respectable twelfth place showing. The hectic four-race
stretch for Tye Twarog Racing wrapped up on Sunday with another
$10,000 to win battle at Eriez Speedway in Hammett, Pennsylvania.
Steve ran second in his heat race, led the first twenty-eight circuits
of the 50-lap main event from the pole position, and eventually
landed in the second finishing spot behind only victor Josh Richards.

7, 2016) Tye Twarog Racing headed north to the Badger State
of Wisconsin from August 2-6 for World of Outlaws Craftsman Late
Model Series specials at Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wisconsin
and Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. On Tuesday in
a $10,000 to win show at Shawano, Steve Casebolt finished eighth
in his heat race, third in his B-Main, and sixteenth in the 50-lap
headliner. At Cedar Lake on Thursday, Steve placed second in his
heat race prior to passing seven competitors during the $6,000 to
win feature event en route to a sterling fourth place performance
behind only victor Josh Richards, Rick Eckert, and Jason Feger!
The stakes were heightened over the weekend at Cedar Lake, as a
whopping $50,000 payday was on the line in the 29th edition of the
'USA Nationals.' Steve timed in ninth fastest in Group B during
Friday night's qualifying session and later grabbed the third and
final transfer spot through his stacked heat race. After rolling
off from the outside of the eighth row in Saturday's 100-lap grind,
the Richmond, Indiana star was unfortunately bounced out after only
24 circuits due to a broken power steering line, which dropped him

31, 2016) Steve Casebolt and his #c9 team were back on
the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series trail from July
28-30 with special events at Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois
and Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. On
Thursday night at Quincy, Steve timed in ninth fastest overall during
qualifying prior to running third in his heat race. After starting
the $8,000 to win feature event from the inside of the fifth row,
Steve was able to work past four competitors during the 40-lap affair
to wind up fifth at the checkers behind only winner Shane Clanton,
Rick Eckert, Brian Shirley, and Bobby Pierce!
At FALS over the weekend, a whopping $27,000 top prize was on the
line in the 27th edition of the 'Prairie Dirt Classic.' On Friday
evening, Steve qualified fifth quickest in Group A during time trials
and later scored the victory in his loaded heat race. After drawing
the pole position for Saturday's 100-lap headliner, the Richmond,
Indiana star dominated the first forty-one circuits of the PDC.
Unfortunately, a broken water pump on lap 42 cost him a chance at
the huge win and instead relegated him to a disappointing twenty-sixth
